Mike Condon

​Mike played collegiate hockey at Princeton University, where he not only earned a degree from one of the nation’s most prestigious institutions but also honed the discipline and resilience that propelled him into a professional career. After signing with the Montreal Canadiens in 2013, Mike made his NHL debut in 2015 and went on to play for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators. His journey also included valuable time in the AHL and international competition with Team USA at the 2016 IIHF World Championship.

Off the ice, Mike pursued his passion for mental performance and psychology, earning a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. During his studies, Mike worked as a Mental Health and Performance Coach with Riser and Tread, supporting young men and athletes in building confidence, emotional resilience, and a healthier mindset both on and off the field.

With the launch of his own consulting company, Mike is creating a new model of support for athletes—one that integrates the mental, emotional, and physical components of sustained success. His approach is rooted in lived experience, academic insight, and a deep understanding of what it takes to thrive in competitive environments.

On and Off the Ice

2023 - 2025

Boston University

Mike earned a master's degree in Counseling Psychology/Sport Psychology from Boston University’s Wheelock School of Human Development. His coursework deepened his understanding of mental health, athlete development, and performance psychology—core elements of his current coaching philosophy.

2020 - 2023

Northeastern University

Mike coached two years for Northeastern University’s men’s ice program. In this time, goalie Devon Levi won the Richter Award for the nation’s most outstanding goaltender, twice. At Northeastern, Mike got to see the athlete’s experience from a different perspective. This experience prompted him to enroll in graduate school to learn how theory and academics explain how to best help people and
athletes.

2013 - 2019

Professional Athlete

Mike played over 250 professional hockey games across North America and Europe during a seven-year career. 129 of these games were played in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Ottawa Senators. His journey taught him perseverance, adaptability, and the mental demands of competing at the highest levels. His playing career can be seen here.

2009 - 2013

Princeton University

At Princeton, Mike balanced Division I hockey with a demanding academic load. He honed leadership, resilience, and time management skills while earning a degree in Political Science and forming the values that would guide his career on and off the ice.

2003 - 2009

Belmont Hill School

Mike attended Belmont Hill School, where he developed as a student-athlete and leader. His experience emphasized discipline, teamwork, and academic rigor, laying the foundation for his future in collegiate sports and personal performance coaching.
